The book is narrated by Stanley (Caveman) Yelnats. He also mentions events that took place after the book and film e.g. Holes getting published, Camp Green Lake getting reopened as it used to be instead of a girl scout camp and him deciding to write a survival guide because of it.The book gives information on e.g. what the Warden, Pendanski and Mr Sir are like and has survival tests in it.
